A recent Reddit post showcasing a cab driver's unique set of rules for passengers has taken the internet by storm. The driver displayed six guidelines prominently from the front passenger seat, aiming to inform customers.

The user who shared the photo captioned it, "I booked a cab, and the driver mentioned some guidelines! What do you think of these?"

Responses varied, with some netizens criticising the rules while others found them quite reasonable.

The list emphasised politeness and respect during interactions and discouraged passengers from referring to the driver as "bhaiya." One guideline pointed out, “The person driving the cab is the owner of the cab.”

The guidelines for passengers included:

1. “You are not the owner of the cab.”

2. “The person driving the cab is the owner of the cab.”

3. “Speak politely and show respect.”

4. “Close the door slowly.”

5. “Put your attitude in your pocket. Please don’t show it to us because you are not giving us more money.”

6. “Don’t say bhaiya to us.”

Additionally, there was a note stating, “Don’t ask to drive fast. Be on time.”

How Did Netizens React?

Responses varied, with one user commenting, "Most points are fair, but what's with 'don't call us bhaiya'?"

Another user countered, "Right. If we can’t say bhaiya, he should have written his name."

One commenter noted, “As long as it’s about mutual respect, it’s perfectly fine. Closing the door softly and not disturbing the driver are basic manners.”

Lastly, another user said, "If the driver is respectful, I don’t see anything wrong with the guidelines. While the 'bhaiya' part may seem odd, regional terms of respect, like 'Anna' in the south or 'dada/bhau' in Maharashtra, are small tokens of respect that go a long way.”
